Jaguar TCS Racing blijft voor een langere tijd actief in het ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Het fabrieksteam bevestigt dat het ook in het GEN4-tijdperk tot 2030 deelneemt aan de elektrische autosportklasse.

Jaguar has been a mainstay of the championship since Season 3 and a consistent title contender in recent campaigns, with the brand’s racing activities and future electric road car range underscoring its firm focus on sustainable solutions. As we simultaneously present the GEN3 Evo single-seater which will race in Seasons 11 and 12 before GEN4 takes over for Season 13, we do so with confidence that the roadmap we are following is in line with manufacturers’ expectations when it comes to race-to-road relevance. That bodes well for a successful future for Formula E.”

Deelname aan de Formula E is voor Jaguar van groot belang voor de ontwikkeling van toekomstige EV-technologie. Belangrijke voorbeelden hiervan zijn het gebruik van siliciumcarbide en gerecyclede transmissievloeistof door de elektrische Jaguar I-TYPE 6 Formula-E-racer. Siliciumcarbide (Silicon Carbide) is een halfgeleider die sinds 2017 door Jaguar TCS Racing wordt gebruikt. De leverancier hiervan is Wolfspeed, de latere technische partner van het team. Ook heeft Jaguar in samenwerking met Castrol een proces ontwikkeld om gebruikte transmissievloeistof opnieuw te raffineren voor competitiegebruik in de Jaguar I-TYPE 6. Wolfspeed Silicon Carbide en Castrol ON-transmissievloeistof zullen beide worden gebruikt in toekomstige productiemodellen van Jaguar.
De snelle technologische ontwikkelingen in het tijdperk van de GEN1, GEN2 en GEN3 betekent dat Formula E-fans bij de stap naar GEN4 opnieuw een grote sprong voorwaarts in elektrische racetechnologie kunnen verwachten. Terwijl er nog wordt gesleuteld aan het technisch reglement van het GEN4-tijdperk, is al wel bekend dat die Formula E-auto’s een vermogen van 600 kW gaan leveren en tot 700 kW aan remenergie kunnen genereren – een substantieel verschil ten opzichte van de 350 kW en 600 kW bij de huidige GEN3-auto’s.
Voor 2025 transformeert Jaguar in een volledig elektrisch luxemerk, met uitzonderlijk expressieve modellen die worden gekenmerkt door baanbrekende technologieën en visionair design. Modellen die zich met niets anders laten vergelijken.
Jaguar is al actief bezig met elektrificatie, met een aanbod van plug-in electric hybrids en volledig elektrische modellen. Het actuele aanbod bestaat uit de I-PACE volledig elektrische performance-SUV, de F-PACE performance-SUV, de E-PACE compacte performance-SUV, de XE en XF sedans, de XF Sportbrake en de F-TYPE sportauto.
Jaguar modellen worden ontworpen en ontwikkeld in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en verkocht in 117 landen. Jaguar behoort tot het JLR house of brands, samen met Range Rover, Defender en Discovery.
